A small colored bead or hook on a live bait rig can sometimes be the difference between a fair day on the water and a great day on the water. This is one of my favorite little tricks. When you are trolling a live bait rig with a plain hook slide a bead on just over the hook or change to a colored hook all together. This little trick will give your presentation just enough color to entice a strike and will remain small enough as to not scare the fish away if you were to put on a spinner blade. So the next time you are trolling live bait rigs and want to spice it up a bit put a bead on or change the hook. You’ll be glad you did.
