I'm sure you will find this show very interesting.

Why Fish Radio Episode #63

Listen Now (mp3)

Probably our most exciting show to date. Both of us were the weekend guests of "Mr. Ice Fishing" Dave Genz. Our fishing excursion took us bluegill fishing in Central Minnesota. We were also joined by the inventor of the Snobear, Tom Lykken and the Perch Patrol's own Jason Mitchell.

Enough about us. This week we interviewed Mr. Genz about late ice fishing and as he calls it "The best icefishing of the year" He teaches us about oxygen depleted and how to find fish then walks us through the stages of the thaw that creates the fresh spring water that really makes fish bite. I think if you like to ice fish and are interested in the best bite of the year you will really find interest in this show.

As always Why Fish is brought to you by Cats on the Red, Today's Tackle, and Trophy Cat Adventures. Only six weeks left to sign up for the guided trip from Why Fish and Kent at Trophy Cat Adventures. Just send your name address and telephone number to contest@whyfishradio.com.

Why Fish Radio Episode #61

Listen Now (mp3)

We were going to talk about carp fishing this week until this past Sunday. This past Sunday if it could go wrong while fishing it did. From getting stuck at the access trying to get to an pike fishing spot then drilling holes over a tree and having to move everything to not catching fish it was just awful. The lesson to be learned after all this is more tips to be safe. Carry a good shovel and a tow rope when you are out ice fishing after heavy snow.

After this ordeal IT IS TIME FOR OPEN WATER!!! We talked about how the general mentality is that winter can end anytime and bring on summer.

Back to ice fishing there is a great walleye bite on Lake Winnipeg and Cats on the Red can set you up. Check them out on the web www.catsonthered.net

Also, Don't forget to sign up for the guided trip from Trophy Cat Adventures. Just send an email with your name, address and phone number to contest@whyfishradio.com

Why Fish is also brought to you by Today's Tackle.
