This week we start out by visiting about current spring conditions of the north country and a preview of the walleye opener at Upper Red Lake. Brad Dokken will be there for the first walleye opener since 1999. We will have a full report in two weeks.

The big story this week is we have special guest from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, Doug Leier. We visit about fishing opportunities in North Dakota. As it turns out there are many places to fish and kinds of fish to chase. We also take a minute to look at the purity of taking a kid to the lake. A kid doesn't care what they catch and they just enjoy the tug on the end of the line. I think you'll like the show.

This week both hosts are back and the show was recorded on location after the Sturgeon Excursion 2. You may remember the big story of Sturgeon Excursion 1 last year and the anticipation of part 2. We didn't have the success of 2005 but we still got some great memories and stories non the less. Listen in and find out about the ESP.

We also take a few minutes to speak about the great open water northern pike fishing on Devils Lake. Brad Durick was lucky in scheduling a vacation just in time to enjoy wonderful weather and shore fishing for Northerns. We give some tips on how to tangle with more pre-spawn northerns.

This is another exciting week here at Why Fish. We introduce you to two big projects that we have been working on. The first is we introduce our new studio complete with telephone capability. This new studio is going to put Why Fish Radio on a petastal in the internet radio world. Expect many guests in the weeks and months to come.

The person we chose for the interview is involved in the other big project we are involved in. Eric Kubischta, President of Midkota Media Services. Midkota is has created a syndication service for audio and video providers to share their work with more potential listeners. We are proud to be one of the flagship providers for this new service and thought it only fitting to have Eric as the first telephone interview since we are all working together with this new technology.
