This week we talk with return guest Lynn Schlueter from the North Dakota Game and Fish Department about Aquatic Nuisance Species in North Dakota. Lynn tells us about what the state has done to prevent ANS in 2006 and what they did to make sure it is not spreading through research and prevention. He also took the time to tell us how we can prevent ANS from reaching us here in North Dakota.

We came to the microphone a bit unprepared this week because neither of us had been fishing in a couple weeks but we came out with a great show. We started out by talking about the crummy weather that started out the fall of 2006. It is funny how your mind shifts as a major weather pattern emerges. We then moved into a discussion about a move that Durick is about to make to a new house. After that the discussion shifted to ice fishing. You see cold weather tends to get people in the mood for some ice fishing and we apparently are no different. We took a few minutes to talk about the new innovations in flasher technology from Vexilar and their new FL-20. I think you guys will really like this new unit.

Next week we hope to talk a bit about one of our own who just arrived in Iraq for a tour of duty with the Air Force.

Both Brads are back in the house this week. Dokken just returned from another trip to Cats on the Red for the big catfish. He tells us about the great day of catching above average channel cats and the excitement that it always brings. We then turn gears to the greenback (walleye) bite that will arrive soon. We also talk about some of the Lake Winnipeg advemtures that will be arriving soon.

Durick covers a day of fishing with a 4 year old in the Red River for anything that will bite. It ended up being a poor catfish day but all in all it was a success because a 4 year old girl had a great time.

We switch gears to talk a bit about how the open water season is winding down and how all of us should take advantage while we still can.

This week there is only one Brad so to keep things moving along we talk to Jon Mitzel from Dakota Country Magazine. We talk about the fishing opportunites of Central and Western North Dakota. We start out with Salmon on the Lake Sakakawea and move on to panfish in small ponds and lakes. We also discuss the water conditions of the big lake. Great informative show.
