Why Fish Concept #4

Listen Now (mp3)

Concept #4

Learn to use a few fishing techniques with perfection instead of many techniques with mediocrity. This is the biggest mistake that most fishermen make. Find a couple of techniques that you like to use and master them. For Example trolling live bait rigs and jigging. When you master these techniques you will find that it become much easier to catch more fish than constantly trying different things that you really don’t understand. Once you have your techniques mastered and you find fish then you can try to learn new ways to catch fish. This Concept should be a really easy way to become better at fishing overall. Until the next Why Fish Concept Keep your hook in the water, your line tight and most of all keep it fun.

Why Fish Concept #3

Concept #3

A small colored bead or hook on a live bait rig can sometimes be the difference between a fair day on the water and a great day on the water. This is one of my favorite little tricks. When you are trolling a live bait rig with a plain hook slide a bead on just over the hook or change to a colored hook all together. This little trick will give your presentation just enough color to entice a strike and will remain small enough as to not scare the fish away if you were to put on a spinner blade. So the next time you are trolling live bait rigs and want to spice it up a bit put a bead on or change the hook. You’ll be glad you did. Until the next Why Fish Concept Keep your hook in the water, your line tight and most of all keep it fun.

Why Fish Concept #2

Concept #2

After tying a knot, always test it by holding the hook and giving the line a steady pull. If the line should break make sure you cut off some line and retie your knot. This tip may sound kind of elementary but it really makes sense. Imagine if you didn’t check the line and you caught that fish of a lifetime, you would never forgive yourself for such a simple oversight. To ensure that you don’t loose that fish of a lifetime, check your line and your knots frequently to ensure that everything is in working order. If your line is breaking regularly don’t be afraid to change your line. Line is inexpensive and easy to change. Until the next Why Fish Concept keep your hook in the water, your line tight and most of all keep it fun.

CONCEPT #1

If your desire to catch fish is sincere, you must learn the details. Sometimes the smallest things can make a difference. What this means is the more you learn about the fish you are trying to catch the easier it will be. Paying attention to the details that you have learned can help you find the fish and stay on them giving you more success while fishing. For Example, If you are fishing walleyes on a point with a fairly steep break if you watch electronics when you catch a fish you can stay at that depth. This small detail with usually help you catch more fish. To have more success start paying attention to the details, and you will find that fishing can be even more fun. Until the next Why Fish Concept keep your hook in the water, your line tight and most of all keep it fun.
